Day 1 Standard Process purification detox diet

Hello-

I'm actually on Day 16 of the detox program but I have been keeping a detailed written diary.  After searching for others to gage my experience by and only finding a few, I've decided to blog about my experience.  Bear with me, this is my first blog.  I am a terrible speller - work in progress.  Hope you find this information helpful.

It started on the 4th of July 2011.  My neighbor and I both had the Standard Process detox ingredients and vowed to start the detox the next day.

Background Information

I am 5'4" tall and 160 lbs.  I am a college student/teacher/mother of two boys ages 3 and 5.  Currently I am a stay-at-home-mom on summer vacation.  Yes, be jealous.  It is a blessing.  We cut lots of corners to make it work.

The last time I took my measurement was in January.  They are as follows...
Bust: 37"
Hips: 41"
Belly: 35.5"
Thighs: 25"
Wearing a size 8 or 10.

It has been my goal to weigh under 140 lb.  I've had this goal ever since my three year old was born and have yet to achieve it.  My husband bought me a Wii and Wii Fit Plus for Christmas 2009.  I love the yoga and games but no significant weight loss.  I had moved my old treadmill to the family room where the Christmas tree was.  I used it more, but in spurts.  I don't like to run but I do enjoy walking.

I recently joined a boxing gym.  (I did this 10 years ago - before kids, and I was in the best shape of my life.  No walking or dieting, just boxing.  Not competitive, just for self defense and exercise.)  With the commute and family demands I'm lucky to go twice a week for a one hour session.  I love it and wish I could commit more time to boxing but I cannot.

I also recently bought EA Sports 2 Personal Trainer for the Wii (on sale from $60 to $25 at Walmart).  I really like this for my daily exercise.  I try to do a 25-30 minute session 4 days a week.  It's not that hard but it really makes me sweat.  Lots of squats and such.  Normally I'd get bored with the repetitive exercises but the game keeps me engaged.

As for my "normal" eating habits.  I'd say I'm average.  I usually only make whole wheat pasta and I only buy whole wheat bread.  I rarely drink soda.  I like water and keep a tall glass on the counter all day long.  I usually have 1 big cup of coffee a day with French Vanilla International Delight creamer.   I like sweets, especially chocolate!  We entertain often so I graze and I eat lots of breads and cheese - LOVE cheese.  And, I like to drink...beer, wine, cocktails.  Bad. I know.  I love a glass or two of wine after the kids are in bed.  When my husband comes home we like to chat over a couple cold beers or perhaps a vodka and Red Bull cocktail.  It is summer and HOT.  I do like Mike's Hard Lemonades and I blend a great Margarita.

So- that's the background information I think is pertinent.  Let's move on to the detox...

Day #1 Tuesday July 5th, 2011
Weight 154 lb  ( I have been boxing 2x week for a month now and dropped from 160 lbs.)

Breakfast: shake + 10 pills.  (Shake tastes awful!  Pills taste like seaweed!  At least what I imagine seaweed to taste like.)  Made shake with frozen strawberries, frozen blueberries, 2 scoop SP Complete and water)

Snack: baby carrots

Lunch: Salad- romaine, cauliflower, broccoli.  (Made the SP vinaigrette- it's good.)  Usually I make my salads with Vinegar and Oil... and sunflower seeds, and bacon bits, and dried fruit, blue cheese or Parmesan or any cheese really.  But not today!

2:30 PM: 10 pills

3:00: a mug of soup. (I made the Lentil Soup from SP website.)  1 plum, 2 slices watermelon.

NOTE:  I reread later that I was suppose to take the pills 1 hours after a meal or at least 2 hours before.

8:30 PM : shake (gross) and 1/2lb asparagus, roasted and drizzled with lemon juice, evoo and sea salt.

9 PM: nauseous.  headache. Took 3 IB Profren.  Went to bed at 9:30.  Could not even think of swallowing 10 pills!!

Exercise today: Short walk to the library and back - probably 1 mile, slow, with the kids.

*I also just started keeping a 2 quart pitcher of water in the fridge and drink the whole thing all day long.
**I scanned the internet for recipes and menu ideas.  I went to the grocery store and easily spent $130 on fruits and veggies in preparation for this.  I know I'll spend more but that was my initial stock up.
